SEMİNAR ON THE SMES’ POSİTİON ON THE EU-TURKEY CUSTOMS UNİON MODERNİZATİON PROCESS
Seminar on the SMEs’ Position on the EU-Turkey Customs Union Modernization Process has been organized under the TEBD Project by participation of Ambassador Mr. Faruk Kaymakçı. The Customs Union entered into force on 1 January 1996 and provided a high level of integration between the parties. Analysing the impact of 20 years of implementation, Turkey has become the EU’s 5th main trading partner globally with the value of bilateral trade in goods currently amounting to around EUR 140 billion. In this regard, seminar has been organized during the TEBD project to create awareness and enable SMEs to learn about this process. The seminar has included the main subjects as modernisation of the EU-Turkey customs union, position of sectors and SMEs, challenges, public procurement, investment protection, dispute settlement and sustainable development. Seminar has been carried out in ECI with the participation of more than 100 companies.
